Achievement

What achievement look like at Gilbrook

At Gilbrook we look at the whole child when measuring achievement.  We are conscious that many of our pupils have struggled to find their place in previous schools.  They need something different:

"If you keep doing the same thing, you will continue to get the same results. "

Our priority is that pupils are happy, so we have adapted our approach so it is a bit different to what you would expect in school; this is to help our pupils be happy in our environment.

A happy, safe, settled child will access education and enjoy learning – this makes the learning more meaningful and it will be more successful.  This is why we focus on the well-being of the child first and foremost. This is what informs what achievement looks like in our school for our pupils.  Academic progress is just one part of the this.

What we measure:

  • Social skills
  • Emotional literacy
  • Educational progress in curriculum areas
  • Behaviour incident tracking
  • Attendance
