PE/Sports Premium 24 / 25                                                  

The PE and Sports Premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sports activities offered to children in years 1 to 6; details of our action plan for 2023 / 2024 are outlined below:

 Success Criteria

  • Support and involve the least active children by providing activities differentiated to meet their needs - outdoor learning activities, school sports and residential activities
  • Increase pupils’ participation in green spaces activities
  • Encourage pupils to take on leadership or volunteer roles that support sport and physical activity within the school on the farm with Giltech and on Farm Friday.
  • Embed physical activity into the school day through active playgrounds, outdoor learning opportunities and active teaching, encourage different activities at break.
  • The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – the Chief Medical Officer guidelines recommend that all children and young people aged 5 to 18 engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day, of which 30 minutes should be in school.
  • The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement.
  • The increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE, sport and in supporting outdoor learning opportunities.
  • Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils though other providers and trips
  • Increased participation in active learning and knowledge about how to keep fit and healthy, including how food supports healthy life.
  • Raise attainment in primary school swimming to meet requirements of the national curriculum before the end of key stage 2.
  • Engage with other providers to support outdoor learning and physical activity and enhance curriculum/
