Gilbrook School, Birkenhead, Wirral
World Book Day - Optional Dress up - NO Football Kits/tracksuits Thursday 5th March is World Book Day. To celebrate, we will be doing lots of book themed activities throughout the day and taking time out to read our favourite stories. If your child would like to dress up they may come to school as a book character. We appreciate that not all of our children like to dress up. Therefore this is completely optional. If your child does not want to come as a book character they should wear school uniform as normal, pupils are not allowed to wear football kits or tracksuits. We will look forward to seeing some inventive costumes on the day and may even have a few prizes to give out too! Many Thanks, Mrs Chapman-Roberts

Harvest Assembly 2025

21st Oct 2025

To celebrate our Harvest Festival on Friday 24th October, we are asking if the children could bring in an item of ‘easy eating’, non-perishable foods (things that don’t need to be cooked).

Things like biscuits, cereal bars, cake bars, chocolate bars, sweets, pre-packed fruit snacks, pre-packed cheese snacks, crisps – even dog biscuits!

We will be delivering all of the items collected to the Charles Thompson Mission in Birkenhead who will distribute to the homeless and those in need in our area.

Since 1892, The Charles Thompson Mission has been dedicated to providing care and support, food and clothes, to those across the Wirral who are living in poverty.

As a charity they rely on donations from individuals and businesses, as well as the tireless effort from amazing volunteers.

School will close as normal at 3pm on Friday 24th October for half term and will reopen on Monday 3rd November.
